stalin removed mla for his bad behaviour

Stalin’s statement said that this is a disciplinary action for bringing bad name to the party and working against the interest of the party. The statement further said that the legislator’s response to show cause notice issued by the party is unacceptable.

Selvam had created a stir in the party when he had gone to Delhi with BJP national general secretary Muralidhar Rao and state president L Murugan and met BJP president JP Nadda. Post the meeting, Selvam had dismissed claims of him joining the BJP. But while addressing the media he had made three demands to the DMK chief MK Stalin including — internal election within the party and severing ties with the Congress.

In the explanation given by Selvam to the party, he had said that there is no rule in the party that members are not allowed to meet people from other political party and had insisted that the allegations against him were not right.

According to sources in the party, Selvam was unhappy about not being given the post of Chennai West District Secretary, which was earlier held by J Anbazhagan, who died recently of Covid-19.
