As per unofficial data, Rs 15,000 crore has been spent for Hyderabad Metro Rail project accomplished in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. L&T made Hyderabad Metro look very special among all the Metro Rails in the country. The multi-national company wasn’t relying only on ticket fares for recovering investment. Instead, Malls have been constructed as close as possible to the Metro Stations to increase revenue generation.
L&T aims earning 45 percent of expenditure incurred for Hyderabad Metro Rail through the Malls. After the inauguration of Hyderabad Metro Rail by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday afternoon, L&T shifts focus to the opening of the various malls it constructed.
In the Punjagutta-Erramanzil stretch, L&T is going to launch two malls with 12 Cinema Halls. The operations are expected to begin in December this year. Even the construction of Hi-Tech City Mall & Mall at Moosarambagh area has neared completion. The Hi-Tech City mall in Rayadurgam alone is spread across 15 acres.
